About

Nshan Melkonian was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and moved to Bristol, England in 2021. He is currently the Gallery Supervisor at Spike Island-International Center for Contemporary Art and Design in Bristol, Duty Manger for Ashton Court Mansion, and a volunteer curatorial technician at the Royal West of England Art Academy and Peoples Republic of Stokes Croft, where he also serves as a guest art writer. He attended the University of Bristol followed by Bath Spa University, where he was awarded his Masters in Arts Management in 2023.

Nshan has worked in variety of roles, ranging from gallery assistant and curator with both regional and international organizations like the Passage a l’Art gallery in France, Atrium gallery, and 507 Creative Festival in Calabasas, CA., to Gallery Administrator at SCI Black Board Gallery and Programs Assistant for the California Museum of Art. Additionally, Nshan is a Board Member Emeritus of Ventura County Arts Council in Ventura, CA. He continues to contribute to art organizations in Bristol, volunteering with art and community related events, exhibitions, and initiatives.
